Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipsticks - Bareminerals

Juju on the left
and
Infamous on right
The Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipsticks retail for $18 at Ulta, Bareminerals and Sephora (they will be linked down below as always). These liquid lipsticks feel amazing when you put them on, however as time goes on they will feather and fade in the worst possible way.

The Logistics:

They come in 20 shades, and I have the shades in Juju and Infamous. The entire line is based on the nudes hence its name. Each tube has 0.13 oz of product: compared to NYX Lip Lingerie** which has 0.13 fl oz, or Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks which has 0.11 fl oz of product. The applicator is entirely flat. It is like a doe foot applicator except there is no sharp point to it. This delivers pro's and con's: it is really easy to apply however to get a precise line I would recommend going in with a lip liner. The packaging of the lipsticks looks very chic and elegant.

It's Claims (from Ulta's website):

  • Full coverage
  • Long-wearing formula
  • Moisturizing, cream-to-matte finish
  • Lightweight, no-tack texture
  • Formulated without parabens, sulfates or phthalates
  • Gluten-free and not tested on animals
  • Formulated without petrolatum

  • My Thoughts:

The lipsticks are very full coverage, have a moisturizing cream-to-matte finish and are lightweight with a no-tack texture. However I would argue against long-wearing formula. The formula likes to cling to every part of dry dead skin. So if you are like me and have dry lips they crack or have flacks the color will grab at those parts. Also the lipstick really sinks into fine lines. It doesn't give that even color throughout the lips. The lipstick looks wonderful when you first apply it, however within an hour it will start to sink into lines and cling onto skin. The formula is also not smear proof. Unlike the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid lipsticks they are not kiss proof, if you drink water, eat food it will come off. However reapplying is not a pain and does go one beautifully.

Overall I do not recommend this product nor will I be purchasing more. On the plus side they do smell like vanilla.

Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette

The Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette retails for $45 at Ulta, Sephora and Tarte's website (all linked down below ↓). These are all extremely pigmented, soft and creamy. A must have in a makeup lovers collection, and you can't beat the price for a high end palette.

    The Logistics:

The eyeshadows are formulated with Tarte's famous Amazonian Clay which provides long wear. The palette comes with 12 shades which are all matte. Each pan come with 0.053 oz of product: compared to Urban Decay's Naked palettes which has 0.05 per shade. Here is each shade and their descriptions:
    • Free Spirit (cream)
    • Force Of Nature (nude)
    • Dreamer (warm brown)
    • Multi-Tasker (chocolate)
    • Caregiver (pale pink)
    • Natural Beauty (mauve)
    • Best Friend (mulberry)
    • Bombshell (dark plum)
    • Super Mom (ivory)
    • Wanderer (light brown)
    • Power Player (taupe)
    • Fashionista (black)

    My Thoughts:

This is a must have palette for makeup lovers and makeup beginners. The palette does come with all matte shades which does limit its diversity of the looks. However the colors in the palette allows you do looks that range from no makeup makeup to smokey night outs. The mirror in the palette is also huge, great for on the go.

Overall I give this palette a huge thumbs up and is definitely something I would recommend to everyone. Did you know they had a Tartelette in Bloom? If you would like a review on that palette or a reviews comparing them please let me know down below or on my social media accounts. As always love you all and have a wonderful day 💗💗💗💗

Butter London LIPPY Liquid Lipstick Review

The Butter London LIPPY Liquid Lipsticks retail for $18 on Ulta's and Butter London's Website (they will be linked below as always). These Liquid Lipsticks are very pigmented and glossy. They provide an excellent time of wear and they are a little different from the typical liquid lipsticks.

    The Logistics:

They come in 12 shades, and I got the shades in Come to Bed Red, Fruit Cake, and Bonkers. Each lipsticks comes with 0.24 fl oz of product. This compared to the NYX Lip Lingerie** which has 0.13 fl oz, or Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks which has 0.11 fl oz of product. The LIPPY Lipsticks has a doe foot applicator, very standard in the liquid lipstick world. The applicator makes it easy to apply to the lipstick, however, it doesn't necessarily give a nice clean outer lip line. The packaging of the box of the product is spot on. The design inside the box is very beautiful. However the packaging for the product itself seems to make the product look cheaper than it is. The packaging does have reflection so that in certain lighting the words seem to take a 3D feel.

    Their Claims (from Ulta's website):

    • Nourishing and hydrating.
    • Rich colour that does not fade.
    • Statement colours to suit every mood and every outfit.
    • Lipstick and gloss all in one - pigment of a lipstick with high shine of a gloss.

    My Thoughts:

The liquid lipsticks are nourishing and hydrating. They do not dry out your lips as they are not a matte finish. They have the high shine of a lipgloss but the stay power of a liquid lipsticks. They are not transfer proof, for they never dry to anything. The color does fade very nicely if at all. It doesn't bunch up at the inner lips as most lipsticks do. The shine nor the color goes away after long hours of wear. I wore mine for around 8 hrs and it held up very nicely throughout the day. I did drink from a cup and there were lipsticks smears on the cup. I did also some some snacks, but nothing greasy and the lipstick didn't come off either. The lipstick does also come off very easily at the end of the day, I used the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes.
This compared to other liquid lipsticks you might find on the market is quite unique. You don't see many lipsticks with the longevity and the pigmentation of a liquid lipsticks but still has high shine. Most liquid lipsticks on the market are matte and very drying to keep its longevity. As you can tell by the logistics part the liquid lipsticks has much more product than other leading liquid lipsticks, despite its small packaging.
Overall I think if you were looking for an all in one lipstick and lipgloss that has a long wear time and is not drying I would definitely pick this up. If you are looking for a lipstick that is transfer resistant or water resistant I would go for something else.

From Left to Right: Come to Bed Red, Fruit Cake, Bonkers. The swatches make it look like the two on the left are very similar, but Come To Bed Red is more of a true red and Fruit Cake is more of a pink.

Bareminerals Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Review

Bareminerals Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation retails for $29.50 at Ulta, Sephora and Baremineral's website. It is going to be able to deliver shear, median or full coverage depending on how much you use.

    The Logistics:

It contain 1 fl oz of product and comes in 20 shades. The product is not formulated with silicone, oil, parabens, or fragrance. It is hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic. It is also dermatologist tested. There is an SPF 20. It has a dropper kinda applicator to it. Like the Smashbox BB Water** however the dropper is composed within the the bottle. The picture will make sense. I have it in the shade Bare Beige #8.

Its Claims  (I got this straight from Ulta's website):

    • Famous no-makeup look and feel
    • Clinically proven to improve the appearance of dark spots, skin brightness and skin texture.*
    • Coconut-derived base with jojoba-coated mineral pigments and non-chemical broad spectrum SPF 20
    • Supercharged Lilac Plant Stem Cells and Vitamin C help to reveal brighter, more even-toned skin
    • Ultra-thin, silky texture-one to two weightless drops naturally transform, soften and smooth your complexion

    • *Based on an independent clinical study after 8 weeks of use.

    My Thoughts:

The Foundation/Serum does have a no-makeup feel to the face. It looks really natural and not like you piled on tons of foundation. However despite it claiming to not be formulated with oils it does seems a little oily to the touch. Don't get me wrong it doesn't look oily, but when I touch my face (that sounds weird) I can feel the oil underneath the foundation. Given I do even have dry skin.

I haven't seen an improvement in skin brightness, skin texture or dark spots as I used it, but I then haven't been using it for 8 weeks straight. The foundation is very runny. If you have it on your hand and move your hand the foundation will move as well. This type of consistency is very common with serum foundations.

A little does go a long way. I used 2 drops to cover my whole face, then one more to add more coverage when needed. I think the foundation goes on better with a brush, because since very liquidity the brush doesn't soak up as much product as say a beauty blender. It does layer beautifully so you are able to get the full range of coverage.

I have it in the shade Bare Beige 8
    Bare Beige 8

    Tarteist Contour Palette Review

Tarteist Contour Palette retails for $45 on Ulta's website, Sephora and Tarte's website. Link will be on the bottom. The formula of the powders are creamy, soft and pigmented with the exception of the glow. The glow in my opinion is a dud. They apply to the skin beautifully and blend smoothly. However it might not be a must have.

    The Logistics:

The palette comes with six colors. Two contour shades, one blush, two setting powders, and one highlighter. The contour, blush and setting powders are each contain 016 oz of product. The glow is 0.07 oz.
    • highlight (matte highlighter)
    • correct (yellow correcting powder)
    • contour – soft (for light-to-medium skin tones)
    • contour – deep (for medium-to-dark skin tones)
    • accentuate (rosy blush)
    • glow (shimmer highlighter)

    My thoughts:

It is a good palette. I love the fact that it comes with a blush, very unusal of a contour palette to have. The glow shade was not my favorite. It was not very pigmented and did not give the kind of intensity I wanted. #highlightgameweak. The contour shades were okay. I think that it gave an okay range of colors. It does only have two shades, instead of the usual three, but the two shades included would probably suit most skin tones. The correcting shade and highlighting shade were also good. The blush is wonderful. I loved the color they chose to put in the palette. It is very natural and can be worn for everyday.

Do I think you need this palette? Maybe not. If you don't own a contour palette already, and love how this one comes with a blush than go for it. However the highlighter is a flop. If you already own a couple or one contour palettes you probably don't need this. The contour shades and highlighting shades are all about the same. If you want something that is easy to travel, I suggest going for tarte showstopper or rainforest palette by tarte. They come with eye shadows, blush, bronzer and highlighter. All of which are formulated the same way.

    NYX Lip Lingerie Review

NYX Lip Lingerie retails for $6.99 on Ulta's website and $7 on NYX's website, both will be linked on the bottom. They come in 12 shades. I only got my hands on 6, if you want to see the other shades let me know and I will do a part 2.

    The Logistics:

They come with 0.13 fl oz or 4 ml of product. The finish of all shades are matte. They are a liquid lipstick. The brand is cruelty free. The shades I have include:
    Satin Ribbon: Nude Beige
    Lace Detail: Nude Pink Beige
    Push Up: Brown Spice Pink
    Bedtime Flirt: Red toned Pink
    Ruffle Trim: Cinnamon Pink
    Honeymoon: Grey toned Brown

    My Thoughts:

They do not move. Seriously they don't. They dry within 10 seconds and they do not budge. Taking them off was a big pain, as I did lip swatches, but for a very long wear they are magnificent. However like any liquid lipstick they are drying. They do cling to dry patches and into crevices in your mouth. They don't feel dry but they look dry. I put a gloss over it to solve the problem. Not all shades are made the same in pigmentation. I found that the darker colors, especially Honeymoon, applied really well. It took one coat and it went on evenly and smoothly. The lighter shades like Lace Detail didn't go on as evenly as I wanted it to. They are sticky. Even when they dry they are extremely sticky. If you push your lips together long enough you need force to peel them apart.

    Tarteist Blush Palette Review

The Tarteist Blush Palette retails for $38 on Ulta's website. I will link it below. It is a total steal to get four blushes for the price of almost 1.5 amazonian clay blushes by tarte.

    The Logistics:

    Live
The palette comes with four limited edition shades (shades description below) for their 2016 spring and summer collection. Each blush is made with their amazonian clay formula which is suppose to stay on for 12hrs. Each blush contains 4.5g or 0.158 oz of product. A full amazonian clay blush by tarte has 5.6g and retails for $26. The palette comes with a large mirror and the names are engraved into the palette. It is also vegan friendly.
    Laugh
    Dream
    Love
From left to right: Dream, Love, Laugh, Live

    It's Claims:

    • Amazonian clay: nature's most perfect ingredient for better, longer, truer wear
    • Mineral pigments: soothe and soften skin

    My Thoughts:

The blushes do last for a significant amount of time, and strangely enough they seem to look better as they as the day goes on. I have never personally tested out the 12hr claim, but for 10hr it stays on. Live and Dream are really good pops of color for the spring and summer, hence its launch date. However Love and laugh are perfect everyday shades.  The pigmentation of each is great and smooth, no patchiness.

The palette is travel friendly, but I'm not sure one person would need four blushes on a trip. If you aren't a makeup junkie like me and just want a nice array of shades I would totally go for this palette. You are getting four almost full size amazonian clay blushes for the price of 1.5. You get your everyday blushes and some nice pop of color too. And if you are a makeup junkie the packaging is adorable and a perfect showcase on your vanity. Overall I would go and grap this palette up before they are all gone.

If you try out the palette please let me know your thoughts and opinions in the comments down below. And follow me on Instagram @makeupgoodnessblog to see sneak peaks and other goodies.
